This six-week intensive course in meditation will cover a wide-variety of techniques from many different traditions.

The course will address traditional mindfulness techniques for reducing stress and gaining focus as well as a series of techniques designed to make available the classical insights associated with awakening.  Each class will consist of some theory and several techniques. The weeks in between will be an opportunity for home practice with the new techniques.

FIRST WEEK: Relaxation, Concentration, Pleasurable-states, Focus Out

SECOND WEEK: Mindfulness of Emotion, Mindfulness of Mind, The Now Experience, Spaciousness, Equanimity

THIRD WEEK: Don’t-Know Mind, The Cloud of Unknowing, Beginner’s Mind

FOURTH WEEK:  Groundedness/ Stillness, Self-Inquiry

FIFTH WEEK: Lovingkindness, Merging States, Unity Awareness

SIXTH WEEK: Impermanence, Choiceless Awareness

Christopher Kelly, Ph.D. is an award winning teacher who has taught at several major universities including the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and the University of Maryland, College Park. He has studied the nature of consciousness for over twenty years, receiving degrees in physics and philosophy. He is a dedicated practitioner having had the good fortune to study on retreat with some of today’s most insightful teachers including Adyashanti, Shinzen Young, Luang Por Pasanno, Soryu Forall, Jessica Graham and Michael Taft. He is the author of two books, including the forthcoming A Theory of the Good.
